Eric Gehrig helped elevate and transform the men's soccer program as a standout from 2006 to 2009, leading the Ramblers to a pair of NCAA tournament berths, including the program's first-ever appearance in 2006. The three-time All-Horizon League First Team selection and 2008 NSCAA All-Region pick tallied 16 points on six goals and four assists during his junior season, marking the highest single-season total of his collegiate career.
The Chicagoland native appeared in 76 MLS matches while playing for the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire from 2011 to 2016 and was named the Fire's Defender of the Year in 2015.
