Ramblers Prep for Wildcats

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago looks to build its win streak to three games with a trip to Davidson Tuesday night. The Ramblers and Wildcats tip-off at 6 p.m. CT. Loyola is coming off a 2-0 week while Davidson dropped its last game.

Tuesday's game can be watched on CBS Sports Network with Chris Lewis (PXP) and Mike O'Donnell (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• The Ramblers are coming off back-to-back wins over Richmond and Saint Louis. Loyola took an 87-80 overtime win against the Spiders and followed up with a 78-69 win vs. the Billikens.
• Jayden Dawson was tabbed the A-10 Player of the Week following his performance over both games. He averaged 25.0 points per game while shooting 53.3 percent from the field, 54.4 percent from three, and perfect at the line.
• Dawson added 2.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, 1.5 blocks per game, and 0.5 steals per game. It's the first A-10 weekly honor for the Ramblers this season and first of Dawson's career.
• Dawson tied his career-high 26 points vs. Saint Louis, finishing 10-16 from the field with six threes. He added three blocks.
• Sheldon Edwards Jr. scored 17 points, while Des Watson scored 14.
• Miles Rubin tallied his third double-double of the year with 10 points and 11 rebounds. It is the second straight game with at least 10 boards for the sophomore center. Rubin also dished out a career-high six assists and blocked four shots.
• At Richmond, Dawson dropped 24 points with another six three-pointers and led all-scorers. He now has four 20-point outings this year.
• Sheldon Edwards Jr. went 4-4 from three-point range in OT to help power the Ramblers to the win. He finished with 21 points on 7-16 from three. It marked the fourth 20-point outing for Edwards Jr. this season.
• Des Watson added 19 points. He had just four before the end of regulation when he lit up for three straight threes and a jumper inside. Watson finished 7-14 from the field with three from deep.
•Edwards Jr. moved up to tied fourth on the single-season charts in three-pointers made. He drained 11 total last week, bringing his season tally up to 74 makes.
•Nationally, the fifth-year guard ranks 45th in three-pointers made (74), 37th in three-pointers per game (2.96), 63rd in three-point percentage (39.6), and 57th in three-point attempts (187).
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a 74-48 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
The Wildcats sit at 15-10 overall and 5-7 in league play as a new week of action opens. Davidson is 11-3 on its home court but dropped its last home contest to George Washington over the weekend, 74-67. The Wildcats are one of the best teams in the country at taking care of the ball. They lead the A-10 and sit 14th nationally with 9.5 turnovers per game, while their 1.63 assist to turnover ratio ranks 12th in the NCAA.

Davidson has one of the nation's top scorers in Reed Bailey. He's averaging 19.9 points per game, sitting atop the A-10 and 32nd in the country. He's on a 12-game double-figure scoring streak, which includes two 30-point performances. Bailey dropped 32 at Richmond and 30 at Rhode Island. He had a double-double vs. the Rams with 11 boards.

Matt McKillop is in his third season leading Davidson and has compiled a 46-43 record.

SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series is tied, 2-2, after the Ramblers swept the series last season. In a 69-59 road win, Watson and Rubin led Loyola's offense with 13 points each.
