Ramblers, Hawks Tip-Off Saturday Afternoon

CHICAGO - Loyola and Saint Joseph's are set for a rematch Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gentile Arena. The Ramblers look to start the month off with a win and bounce back from an overtime loss at George Mason earlier this week, while the Hawks aim for their second straight.

Saturday's game can be watched on CBSSN with John Sadak (PXP) and Tre Demps (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• Loyola scored the last seven points in the second half at George Mason earlier this week to force overtime on the road. Despite three looks on their final possession to tie the game, the Ramblers fell, 58-53.
Francis Nwaokorie led the team in scoring with 11 points, including three from deep.
Sheldon Edwards Jr. grabbed a season-high eight rebounds, while Jayden Dawson added seven boards and a career-high seven assists.
• Dawson's seven-assist outing brought his A-10 only average up to 2.9 assists per game. He ranks 15th on the leaderboards.
Miles Rubin tallied three blocks, moving up to 118 career blocks. He now sits alone at fourth all-time in program history.
• Rubin's season total of 42 blocks ranks 22nd in the country, while his blocks per game average of 2.1 sits at 21st.
• Last week, Loyola went 1-1 with an overtime loss at Dayton and home win over Fordham.
• Edwards Jr. led the Ramblers with 13 points, a career-high seven assists, and season-best three steals. He drained three from three-point range.
• Loyola ranks fourth overall in the league, shooting 46.2 percent from the field this season. The Ramblers have seven games this season shooting over 50 percent from the field, including a 52.1 percent night at La Salle earlier this month. Their season-high shooting percentage fell against Murray State at 62.5 percent from the field.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a 70-47 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
The Hawks are 13-8 overall and 4-4 in A-10. SJU has struggled on the road at 2-3. The Hawks have league wins over UMass, Loyola, Davidson, and Duquesne, but have fallen to Saint Louis, Dayton, VCU and Duquesne. In A-10 play, SJU has the third best offense, scoring 75.9 points per game and are second in rebounding with 40.0 rpg.

Four Hawks are averaging over 10 points per game. They are led by Xzayvier Brown at 16.2 ppg on 41.5 percent from the field. He also leads the team in assists (5.1 apg). Brown has scored double-figures in every game this season, including six 20-point performance. He had 20 against the Ramblers earlier this season.

Billy Lange is in his sixth season with the Hawks and holds a 72-99 record at the helm.

The Hawks lead the all-time series, 6-3. Edwards Jr. led the Ramblers with 12 points in a loss at SJU earlier this season.
