Loyola, San Francisco Meet In Milwaukee

5:30 p.m. tip-off at Fiserv Forum

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago and San Francisco square off during the MKE Tip-Off at the Milwaukee Bucks arena, Fiserv Forum, on Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. CT. The 9-0 Ramblers are looking to extend their winning streak as they remain one of only seven undefeated teams in the nation.

Sunday's game can be watched on ESPN+ with Jordan Bernfield (PXP) and Stephond Robinson (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• The Ramblers are the only remaining undefeated A-10 team and one of only seven undefeated teams in the country after their win against South Florida last week, earning Loyola one vote in the AP Top-25 Poll released earlier this week.
• The last time the Ramblers opened the year 8-0 was the historic 1963 season. Loyola has also won its last 14 games at Gentile Arena, dating back to Jan. 17 last season vs. Massachusetts.
• Des Watson and Jalen Quinn stepped up in the final minute, helping Loyola steal a 74-72 win over USF. Watson drained a corner three for a lead with 31 seconds on the clock, while Quinn's free throws with five seconds to play secured the win.
• Both Watson and Quinn finished in double-figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Kymany Houinsou (12) and Sheldon Edwards Jr. (11) also finished over 10.
• Houinsou continued to stuff the box score with seven boards, five assists, and one steal.
• The Ramblers are averaging 20.0 assists per game and have four games this season with at least 20 assists. It's the highest average in the A-10 and fifth in the country.
• Loyola is assisting on 68.4 percent of its made field goals, ranking third in the country according to KenPom.
• Justin Moore added four more assists to his season total. His 48 total assists ranks 64th in the NCAA. Moore averages 6.0 apg, ranking 17th in the country, while his 3.69 assist to turnover ration ranks 18th. Moore's assist rate (42.2) sits eighth on the KenPom rankings.
• Miles Rubin continues to be one of the NCAA's best shot blockers this season. He has 16 this season, ranking 62nd, while his 2.0 average ranks 27th. Rubin is blocking 10.96 percent of the attempts against Loyola, ranking 18th on KenPom.
• Loyola is second behind Rhode Island in the A-10 in offensive proficiency with 82.4 points per game. The Ramblers 18.8 point win margin trails VCU for top spot in A-10.
• Jayden Dawson will mix the next four to six weeks with an ankle injury.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a 66-39 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO
The Dons are 8-2 overall heading into Sunday on a four-game winning streak. They won their last two games against St. Louis and Stanislaus State. San Francisco is undefeated at home but have yet to play a true away game. They are 1-2 in neutral site games, with a win against Fordham and losses to Memphis and Clemson. San Francisco is a defensive threat, causing the most turnovers per game (15.2) in the WCC. 

Three Dons are scoring at least 10 points per game. San Francisco is led by Malik Thomas who scores 17.0 ppg on 47.8 percent from the field and 30.2 percent from three. Thomas is on a three-game double-figure scoring streak with a season-high 29 vs Mercyhurst to open December play. He was 11-15 from the field and hit two threes.

In his third year as head coach, Chris Gerlufsen has a record of 51-27 with the program (59-32 all-time).

Loyola leads the all-time series, 4-3. The Ramblers won the last meeting in January 2022, 79-74.
