Ramblers Prep for Road Test at Princeton

CHICAGO - The undefeated Ramblers and Tigers go head to head Friday night at Princeton. Both teams look to stay perfect. The Tigers are 1-0 on their home court, while the Ramblers look to win their first road trip of the season. Tip-off is 6 p.m. CT.

Friday's game can be watched on ESPN+ and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• The Ramblers went 3-0 in the opening week after beating Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, and Eureka College at home.
• Loyola beat Chicago State, 79-72. The Ramblers were fueled by Jayden Dawson who dropped the first 20-point performance this season. It was the third of his career. Dawson finished 7-of-17 from the field with three from deep.
• Against Detroit Mercy, Loyola came away with an 87-65 win. Four Ramblers scored double-figures.
Sheldon Edwards Jr., Dawson, and Jalen DeLoach had 13 points each, while Miles Rubin scored 10.
• Five Ramblers scored double-figures against Eureka, while 14 total Ramblers were in the box score. Edwards Jr. had a game-high 17 points.
• Loyola is holding its opponents to 23.9 percent from three-point range, which ranks 35th in the NCAA. The Ramblers are also in the top-100 in scoring defense, ranking 77th and only allowing 63.3 points per game.
• Loyola is averaging 20.3 assists per game, ranking 24th in the country and second in the A-10.
Justin Moore leads the Ramblers with 5.7 assists per game, sitting fourth in the conference and 53rd in the country. He had a season-high seven against Chicago State in the opener and six more vs. Detroit Mercy.
• The Ramblers posted a 23-10 overall record, which was the fourth highest win improvement (+12) in the NCAA last year.
• Loyola was tabbed fifth in the A-10 Preseason Poll in early October with Des Watson and Miles Rubin bringing home individual honors. Watson was named a First Team selection, while Rubin was tabbed Third Team and All-Defensive.
• Head coach Drew Valentine enters his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a 61-39 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers are 3-0 heading into Friday and sit at 1-0 on their home court. Princeton has beaten Iona, Duquesne, and Northeastern. Both wins at Iona and Northeastern came down to the wire, winning against the Gales by one and Huskies by three.

Both Dalen Davis and Xaivian Lee are averaging 17.3 points per game for Princeton. Davis dropped 25 (9-18 FG, 4-10 3PT) against Northeastern, while Lee had at 27-point outing in the opener vs. Iona. He went 9-of-14 from the field with three threes and 6-of-7 at the line.

Mitch Henderson is in his 13th season at the helm. With the Tigers, he holds a 235-122 record.

Loyola leads the all-time series. The Ramblers won the lone match up back on Nov. 10, 2006, 68-57.
