Coach Moser's Thoughts
"I'm excited with how we played and shared the ball. I was pleased with our focus. This was a complete bounce back from Boise State and our guys were excited to get that taste out of their mouth."
Â
How It Happened
Lucas Williamson helped Loyola jump out to a huge lead in the first half, scoring 14 points in the first 12 minutes as the Ramblers built a 34-13 edge. A basket by Dikembe Dixson cut UIC's deficit to 13-11, but Jackson's ensuing three-pointer touched off a string of 14 unanswered Rambler points, which included a three from
Donte Ingram. That 14-point spurt was part of an overall 27-4 run that gave Loyola a 40-15 lead.
Â
Loyola, which shot a sizzling 62.5 percent (20-for-32) from the field, including a whopping 80 percent (8-for-10) from beyond the arc in the first half, led by as many as 30 points (52-22) in the opening half, hitting that mark on a
Bruno Skokna trey with 1:13 remaining in the period.
Â
The Ramblers, who were comfortably ahead, 52-24, at the half, were able to coast in the second period, using a 16-8 run, capped by a conventional three-point play from Jackson, to start things off, for a 68-32 lead, their largest of the game.
