Jordan McCann

Jordan McCann begins his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Loyola Chicago women’s basketball program in 2026-27. He works primarily with the Ramblers’ guards and has helped lead Loyola to new milestones, including the program’s first appearance in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) in 2025-26. Loyola earned wins over Norfolk State and FGCU in the opening rounds, marking the first time in program history it has recorded multiple postseason wins.

McCann has developed several standout guards at Loyola. Sam Galanopoulos earned All-Atlantic 10 Third Team honors in 2023-24, surpassed 1,000 career points, and led the team in scoring (418 points) before going on to play professionally in Greece. Alyssa Fisher led the team in three-pointers made (49), free throws made (110), and steals (49) in 2023-24 while finishing second in scoring (417 points). Alexa Kinas ranked second in the A-10 in steals per game (2.4) in 2025-26 and recorded 80 steals, seventh-most in a single season in program history.

Before Loyola, McCann spent four seasons at Iona, where he helped recruit and develop six All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) selections. That group included Juana Camilion, a two-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, MAAC Player of the Year, and MAAC Championship MVP, and Morgan Rachu, who averaged a team-best 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 2019-20 and scored 637 career points.

McCann was selected as one of 32 rising professionals for the 2025 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Next Generation Institute.

A Chicago native, McCann has also coached at the University of Bridgeport, Colorado College, Hamilton, and St. Thomas.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport, and tourism from Illinois in 2013 and a master’s degree in sport administration from St. Thomas in 2014. He resides in Chicago with his wife, Nia, who was a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team at Illinois.
