WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Chloe Morgan of Loyola Chicago women's volleyball was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, per the league's announcement on Monday afternoon. 

Morgan, a junior middle blocker out of Mont Belvieu, Texas, led the Ramblers' net presence in their two-match series against VCU last weekend. She totaled 17.0 blocks, highlighted by a career-high nine blocks in Loyola's A10 opener (Sept. 25). Morgan added seven kills and seven digs in the series. 

She helped the Ramblers secure their first conference win, a 3-0 sweep (Sept. 26), and improve to 4-2 inside Gentile Arena. It marks the first weekly league honor of her career, and second overall for Loyola so far this season. 

Next up, Loyola hosts Saint Louis in a midweek matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m.
