GREENWOOD, Ind. – Loyola Chicago women's basketball student-athletes Brooklyn Vaughn and Alexa Kinas debuted on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The honor recognizes student-athletes for their combined achievements in competition and in the classroom.
Kinas, an accounting major with a 3.93 GPA, has started every game for the Ramblers this season. Known for her tenacious defense and ability to disrupt opposing offenses, she ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with 2.4 steals per game. Offensively, Kinas is third on the team in scoring (10.1 points per game) and field goal percentage (42 percent), while leading the Maroon and Gold from three-point range at 32 percent. She has scored in double figures 15 times this season, the second-most on the team, highlighted by a double-double performance of 14 points and 10 rebounds against Rhode Island on Jan. 3, 2026. Kinas also set a new career high with 21 points in Loyola's win over St. Bonaventure on Feb. 21, 2026.
Vaughn, a psychology major with a 3.92 GPA, has been a force on the glass for Loyola. She leads the team in rebounding (5.3 per game), double-doubles (four), and field goal percentage (46 percent), and is the only Rambler averaging more than 2.0 offensive rebounds per contest. Vaughn posted a career-high 22 points against UMES on Nov. 16, 2025, and followed it up just two days later by setting a new personal best with 13 rebounds against Illinois State. She's appeared in every game for Loyola Chicago this season and started 27 contests. In the postseason, Vaughn has had three games scoring in double figures.
As a team, Loyola posted a 3.58 GPA during the fall semester, marking the second-highest team GPA in program history.
According to CSC, fewer than five percent of student-athletes across all sports and divisions earned Academic All-District honors in 2024–25. With the recognition, Kinas and Vaughn advance to the Academic All-America ballot, with selections set to be announced on April 15.
