Deardorff Named Atlantic 10 Defensive POTW

Goalkeeper collects fifth A-10 honor of her career.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- After securing her fourth straight shutout, Allison Deardorff of Loyola Chicago women's soccer was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league's office this afternoon. She's the first Rambler to receive a conference weekly honor this season.

Hailing from Itasca, Ill., Deardorff tabbed the honor after recording two shutouts at home; she made five crucial saves against then-No. 10 Iowa to force a draw with the Big Ten team (Aug. 28) then had one stop against Purdue (Aug. 31). Loyola's historic shutout over Purdue marked the Ramblers first win at home in 2025, their first Power Four win since 2019 and their first Big Ten win since 2017.

The redshirt sophomore goalkeeper currently leads the A-10 in shutouts per game (4), and ranks second in goals against average (.400) and in saves (15).

Loyola continues nonconference play at Illinois State this Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. in Normal, Ill.
