CHICAGO – Alex Morris of the Loyola University Chicago women's track team turned in a season-best 3,000m time Saturday at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park. Additionally, three Ramblers took home top-5 times at DePaul's Blue Demon Alumni Classic.
Morris' time of 10:11.44 was a season-best for the Naperville, Ill., native. She finished 21st overall. Ali Gillooly was in front of her with a personal best time of 9:58.08.
On the men's side of the 3K, Trent Anderson led the way for LUC, placing fourth with a time of 8:38.32. Kyle Knutson (8:50.17) and Aidan Collins (8:58.55) logged top-15 times as well, taking 11th and 13th, respectively. Gabe Ryan ended behind in 16th with a time of 9:06.38. Â
Rambler newcomer Madison Perez was the team's sole representative in the women's mile. She finished 25th with a personal best time of 5:39.72. Similarly, Jo Collins competed in the 400m and took 22nd in 1:05.04.
For the men's mile, Samuel Field paced a pack of three Ramblers with a time of 4:05.10. Gabe Smit (4:05.91) finished on his heels in fifth. Jack Slaughter rounded out the trio with his time of 4:29.89
The Maroon and Gold are next in action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
