Ramblers Outshoot Explorers in No-Score Draw

CHICAGO – Attack-hungry Loyola Chicago battled La Salle to a 0-0 draw in both teams' fourth Atlantic 10 match, and the third consecutive draw result for the Ramblers, on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Hoyne Field. The Ramblers outshot the Explorers 25-8.

"I think we created the chances and lost a little bit of confidence when we weren't scoring, so there was some hesitation there. Shooters shoot, and like we've been doing, if you missed the first, second, third, still take the fourth shot with confidence and conviction," said head coach Angela Staveskie. "Whether we win, lose or draw, it's 'how could we get better each day?'"

The Ramblers are now 6-2-4 overall, 1-0-3 in league play and remain undefeated at home.

How It Happened
In a scrappy and scoreless match that saw 32 total fouls, the Ramblers dominated possession in their attacking third for more than half the match.

Loyola was eager in its attack, taking 25 shots, eight on-frame, and forcing six corner kicks. The Ramblers took 10 shots in the first half, 15 in the second, and had three corner kicks in each.
The 25 shots tops the 22 that Loyola took in its season and home opener against Eastern Illinois on Aug. 15.

Ramblers' goalkeeper Allison Deardorff recorded four saves, two in each half while Explorers' keeper Michela Auguadro made seven saves.
