No. 2 Loyola Chicago To Play No. 7 St. Bonaventure in A-10 Quarterfinals

BROOKLYN - No. 2 Loyola Chicago heads to the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals to take on No. 7 St. Bonaventure. The Ramblers earned the two round bye into the tournament after clinching a share of the regular season title in the regular season finale vs. La Salle, winning 64-54.

The Quarterfinals can be watched on USA Network or listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

• The Ramblers won their third straight, capping the regular season at home with a 64-54 win over La Salle on Senior Day.
• The win paired with George Mason's win over Richmond helped Loyola Chicago take a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title and earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
• It marked the third straight victory as the Ramblers beat Davidson on the road earlier in the week, 69-59. Loyola also downed No. 21 Dayton at Gentile on March 1.
• In the win over La Salle, four Ramblers scored double-figures. Dame Adelekun led the team with his second double-double of the season, recording 12 points and 10 rebounds. He added two assists.
• Des Watson scored 11 points, while Braden Norris and Miles Rubin tallied 10 each.
• Norris is on a five-game double-figure scoring streak, while Watson is on a three-game streak.
• Rubin averaged 11.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, and 5.5 bpg over last week's action, earning him his first A-10 Rookie of the Week award. Rubin recorded a career-high 13 points at Davidson to go with nine rebounds and five blocks. Rubin followed up with 10 points and a career-high six blocks.
• With his first block vs. La Salle, Rubin set a new single-season record. He surpassed the previous record of 66 and has 72 this season and counting.
• Norris also achieved a career milestone with his second assist of the game vs. the Explorers. He tallied his 500th career assist and currently ranks fourth all-time at Loyola.
• Norris is on the brink of another record. He is just seven three pointers away from setting the all-time career record. He currently has 256 career made three-pointers. The record is 262.
• Four Ramblers combined for six All-Conference Awards. Watson was tabbed to the Second Team, while Norris and Alston were named Third Team. Rubin claimed All-Rookie and All-Defensive honors. Norris also was named All-Academic.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his third season at the helm. He holds a 58-36 overall career record.

Scouting St. Bonaventure
After beating La Salle in the second round of the A-10 Tournament, St. Bonaventure improved to 19-12 this season. The Bonnies finished 9-9 in conference play earning the No. 7 seed. 

Chad Venning was named to the All-Atlantic Second Team earlier this week. In the regular season, Venning led the Bonnies in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game on 53.7 percent from the field. Venning also grabbed 5.0 rebounds per game and has 51 blocks this season. He scored 12 in the win over the Explorers and grabbed one rebound. 

Mark Schmidt is in his 17th season leading SBU. He sits at 301-225 at the helm.

Series History
The all-time series is tied, 3-3. The Bonnies tied the series earlier this season with a 79-64 win over the Ramblers. Alston led Loyola with 12 points.
