Loyola Chicago Preps for Massachusetts

The Ramblers will tipoff at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago returns to Gentile Arena Wednesday night for another Atlantic 10 clash vs. Massachusetts. The Ramblers are fresh off a comeback win over Saint Joseph's, while the Minutemen suffered a loss at Rhode Island over the weekend. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Chicago.

Wednesday's game can watched on CBS Sports Network with John Sadak (PXP) and Tre Demps (Analyst) or be listened to on the Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

Quick Hits
• Over the weekend, the Ramblers held an edge at halftime over the Hawks before facing a nine-point deficit in the second half. Loyola rallied for a comeback win over Saint Joseph's handing them their third straight loss in Atlantic 10 play, 78-75.
• Jayden Dawson poured in 20 points for the second time this season. He went 8-of-14 from the field and sunk four threes. Dawson scored five straight points in the final two minutes to secure the win for Loyola.
• Philip Alston added 18 points, four rebounds, a steal, and block, while Braden Norris went 3-of-4 from deep and scored 13 total points.
• Des Watson and Dame Adelekun made an impact with nine points and seven boards each. It marked a season-high in rebounds for Watson.
• Alston remains the team's leader in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game. He is tied 18th overall in the league. In A10 play, Watson leads Loyola with 15.5 ppg and sits 16th in the league rankings.
• Norris went 3-for-4 at SJU and 2-for-2 vs. Richmond to up his three-point percentage to 47.2 percent. He sits fifth in the league,  while teammates Dawson (12th) and Watson (16th) also rank in the top-25.
• Miles Rubin continues to be a threat at the rim for Rambler opponents. Rubin tallied two blocks at SJU, including one in the final minute to help secure the win. He is averaging 2.3 blocks per game, ranking third in the A10. His 39 total blocks is 14th nationally.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his third season at the helm. He holds a 46-35 overall career record.

Scouting Massachusetts
The Minutemen are 11-5 overall and 2-2 in league play heading into Wednesday. Massachusetts is 0-3 on the road after dropping its last game at Rhode Island over the weekend. The Minutemen also dropped a close meeting at Dayton earlier this month. Their two league wins came against Duquesne and La Salle. UMass is averaging 81.7 points per game this season, which is the second most overall in the A10.

Josh Cohen leads the squad with 17.5 points per game, ranking sixth overall in the league. Duquense held him to just two points, but he rebounded with three straight double-figure scoring performances, including 24 points vs. La Salle and 23 at URI. Cohen dropped a season-high 28 points vs. Old Dominion. He finished 10-of-15 from the field and went 8-for-9 at the line.

Frank Martin is in his second season leading the Minutemen. He has a 26-21 record.

Series History
The Ramblers lead the all-time series, 1-0. They won last season's meeting, 64-62. Braden Norris led the offense with 17 points and five assists, while Philip Alston added 13 points and four blocks.
