Loyola Travels To Saint Joseph's

Tipoff is 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago heads east to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's Saturday. The Ramblers and Hawks tipoff at 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU. Loyola looks to rebound off a midweek loss to Richmond, while Saint Joseph's is in search of its first league win of the season.

Tuesday's game can watched on ESPNU with Dave Leno (PXP) and Noah Savage (Analyst) or be listened to on the Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

Quick Hits
• The Ramblers dropped a nail-biter at Gentile earlier this week against Richmond. The Spiders escaped with a 58-56 win to snap a four-game win streak for Loyola.
• Jayden Dawson posted a team-leading 16 points on 6-of-14 from the field, including four from deep. Dawson also grabbed a new career-high eight rebounds. He tallied two assists and two steals.
• Des Watson extended his double-figure scoring streak to four games with a 14-point outing vs. the Spiders. He added six boards and an assist.
• The junior guard had 15 last week vs. Duquesne and 24 in the Atlantic 10 opener at Saint Louis. The streak started with 10 against Central Michigan.
• The Ramblers out-rebounded the Spiders 41-33. They crashed the glass for 35 on the defensive end helping bring their average up to 28.9 defensive boards per game. The average ranks second in the Atlantic 10.
• Before the loss, Loyola was on a seven-game win streak at home with wins against Duquesne (72-67), Central Michigan (73-35), Charleston Southern (72-59), Goshen (115-64), Harvard (75-53), Chicago State (62-53), and New Orleans (73-70).
• In league play, Watson is leading Loyola with 17.7 points per game on 53.3 percent from the field and 58.8 percent from deep. Watson matched his career-high and notched his second 20-point performance of the year with 24 at Saint Louis. He added 15 vs. Duquesne and 14 vs. Richmond.
• Over the three games, Watson has 10 made three-pointers to aver 3.3 makes per game, ranking fifth on the A10 only leaderboards.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his third season at the helm. He holds a 45-35 overall career record.

Scouting Saint Joseph's
The  Hawks enter the weekend 10-5 overall and 0-2 in the A10 after dropping two close meetings at Rhode Island (78-74) and Saint Louis (88-85). Saint Joseph's faced a tough non-conference schedule taking No. 17 Kentucky to overtime and beating No. 18 Villanova on Nov. 29, 78-65. The Hawks have the third best offense in the conference averaging 78.1 points per game.

Erik Reynolds II leads SJU and ranks fifth in the A10 scoring 17.5 points per game. He's shooting nearly 43 percent from the field and 41 percent from the arc. Reynolds has logged double-figure scoring performances in every game this year, including a season-best 28 points on 9-of-17 from the field against Kentucky. He sunk six from three-point range vs. the Wildcats.

Billy Lange is in his fifth season leading the Hawks, and he's compiled a 48-82 record.

Series History
SJU leads the all-time series, 5-1. Last season on March 7, Philip Alston led the Ramblers with an 18 point, 10 rebound double-double. Braden Norris, Ben Schwieger, and Sheldon Edwards all finished with at least 10 points.
