CHICAGO (January 20, 2023) – Loyola University Chicago is back in action for its second home game of the week on Saturday, Jan. 21, when the Ramblers welcome St. Bonaventure to town. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside Gentile Arena on NBC Sports Chicago.

Last Time Out
Braden Norris scored a team-high 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting, including a trio of 3-pointers, as the Ramblers dropped a 76-59 decision to Saint Louis Wednesday evening inside Gentile Arena. The Ramblers set a new season low with nine turnovers in the game but were unable to overcome 57.7% shooting by the Billikens, who outscored Loyola by 13 in the second half to secure the victory.

Loyola/St. Bonaventure – The Series
Saturday will mark the sixth meeting all-time between the Ramblers and Bonnies. This will mark St. Bonaventure's first-ever meeting to Gentile Arena, as the previous five meetings were all played in New York. The series began in 1937 but has been on hiatus since the last meeting on Feb. 2, 1952. Loyola is 3-2 all-time in the series, picking up wins in 1937, 1949 and 1951. St. Bonaventure took the last meeting, a 79-48 decision in 1952.

Scouting St. Bonaventure
St. Bonaventure features a trio of players averaging 10 or more points per game, led by Daryl Banks III's 16.3. Kyrell Luc chips in 13.3 a contest while Chad Venning adds 11.2 points per game. The Bonnies feature one of the top 3-point defenses in the country, ranking second in the A-10 and 17th nationally, allowing opposing teams to convert on just 28.8% of their 3-point field goal attempts. Banks leads all players nationally in minutes per game, averaging a staggering 38:44 minutes of action on a nightly basis. He has made 56 3-point field goals on the season, tops in the conference and 26th nationally. Mark Schmidt, in his 16th season at the helm of the St. Bonaventure program, is the Bonnies' all-time wins leader and led the program to its first AP Top 25 ranking in over 40 years last season. St. Bonaventure rose as high as No. 16 in the poll.
