Loyola University Chicago picked up its fourth win in as many games in dominant fashion, rolling to a 73-37 victory over Dartmouth (0-6) this evening inside Leede Arena in Hanover, N.H. Tonight's win, Loyola's first on the road this season, moves the Ramblers to 5-2 overall.
How It Happened
An old-fashioned three-point play from
Maya Chandler snapped a slow start for Loyola on the offensive end, pulling the Ramblers within one, 4-3, with 7:38 to play in the first quarter. Two
Allison Day free throws on the Maroon & Gold's next trip down the floor gave Loyola its first lead of the night, 5-4. Chandler stayed hot as the frame wore on, knocking down a mid-range jumper to up the lead to 15-9 at the 3:54 mark.
Sam Galanopoulos added a triple on the Ramblers' final possession of the quarter as Loyola held a 20-12 edge after the opening 10 minutes.
Galanopoulos went right back to work in the second quarter, finishing inside just over a minute in to stretch the lead to 22-12. With the margin sitting at 32-21 following a Grace Niekelski triple,
Sitori Tanin sparked a half-ending 9-0 that included five straight points from Chandler, sending the Ramblers into halftime with a 41-21 advantage.
Dartmouth refused to go away without a fight, using a 7-0 surge capped off by an Isabella DiGiovanni layup that trimmed the Loyola lead to 45-32 and prompted a Rambler timeout just before the midway point of the third quarter. The Maroon & Gold answered back after the stoppage, with a
Jala Johnson baseline drive and another Galanopoulos trey pushing the margin to 50-32 with 2:26 to play.
The Big Green got no closer than 16 the rest of the night, as Loyola held Dartmouth to just three points during the fourth quarter en route to a convincing win to begin its road trip.

- Loyola turned in another sparkling defensive effort, holding Dartmouth to just 29.4 percent (15-for-51) from the field. The Big Green's 37 points are the fewest allowed by the Ramblers since a 61-31 win over Evansville back on February 13, 2021.
- Chandler finished a point shy of matching her career high, closing the night with a game-high 20 points (8-12 FGs, 1-5 3FGs, 3-3 FTs).
- Galanopoulos added 12 points (3-5 FGs, 2-4 3FGs, 4-4 FTs), while Tanin scored in double figures for a fourth straight outing, chipping in 10 points (5-9 FGs) in addition to grabbing seven rebounds.

Bre Hampton-Bey flirted with a double-double, scoring eight points (3-8 FGs, 2-2 FTs) and collecting eight rebounds.
- Johnson came off the bench to dish out a team-high three assists as Loyola committed a season-low five turnovers while cashing in for 25 points off 18 Big Green miscues.
- Niekelski (3-8 FGs, 1-2 3FGs), Mia Curtis (3-9 FGs, 1-5 3FGs), and Carrington Washburn (3-7 FGs, 1-3 3FGs) led Dartmouth with seven points apiece.
