Coach Moser's Thoughts
"We got dominated in every phase of the game from the jump. Their toughness and their will was superior to us and that was the story tonight."
Â
How It Happened
Indiana State used a 26-4 run that included 19 unanswered points, to break a 17-all tie and take a 43-21 lead. Loyola, which had gotten off to a good start shooting the ball but hitting 8 of its first 13 field goal attempts, wound up connecting on just 1 of its final 11 tries of the period as the Sycamores built a commanding advantage.
Â
Loyola shot just 37.5 percent (9-for-24) from the field in the opening period, while Indiana State drained 66.7 percent (18-for-27) of its attempts, including 6 of 9 from three-point range to take a 43-23 lead into halftime.
Â
Indiana State led by as many as xx in the second half as Loyola never was able to make a dent in the deficit. The Ramblers' shooing struggles continued in the second period as they went over seven minutes without a point as the Sycamores expanded their lead to 62-29 before a
Bruno Skokna free throw snapped the drought.
Â
