LAST TIME OUT
Loyola opened the regular season on a high note, jumping all over Detroit Mercy from the opening tip en route to an 89-60 victory this past Tuesday at Calihan Hall.
Janae Gonzales turned in one of the top individual performances in program history in the win, knocking down nine three-point field goals, tying a program record, as part of a 29-point effort.

Jala Johnson added 13 points.
LOYOLA – VERMONT – THE SERIES
Friday's home opener marks the first meeting between Loyola and Vermont in women's basketball. Vermont will be the first America East Conference opponent that Loyola has faced since it dropped a 67-55 decision to UMBC back on November 27, 2005. The Ramblers, who will be looking to win their second home opener in as many seasons this afternoon, are 0-3 (.000) all-time against members of the conference.
CATAMOUNTS ON THE PROWL
Vermont makes its way to The Windy City at 0-1 on the year after falling to Dartmouth by a final margin of 72-55 this past Tuesday in Hanover, N.H. Under the direction of second-year head coach Alisa Kresge, who served in an interim role last season, the Catamounts finished 2018-19 at 11-18, going 7-9 in America East Conference play. Preseason All-America East selection Hanna Crymble spearheads the attack for Kresge's team. A third team all-league selection a year ago, Crymble was recently named to the Katrina McClain Award Watch List, given to the top forward in NCAA Division I women's basketball, after averaging a team-high 14.3 ppg last season. Loyola will also have to be mindful of Josie Larkins (8.3 ppg in 2018-19), who led the Catamounts with 13 points in their season-opening defeat to the Big Green.
