In Short
Keenan Dolezal scattered four hits and struck out three and
Sophia Swain homered as Loyola University Chicago (10-8) jumped all over Seton Hall (11-10) for a 12-0 victory in five innings today at the USF Tournament. The win extended the Ramblers' winning streak to three games and moved them two games over .500 for the year.
How It Happened
Loyola wasted little time providing Dolezal with all of the backing she would need, scoring seven first-inning runs on six hits to take control and put the game out of reach.
Peyton DeChant and
Shannon McGee provided the big blows, each delivering a two-run double as the Ramblers batted around in the big inning.
Jamie O'Brien's single knocked in
Katie Kasubke and
Allyson Ivey in the bottom of the second as the Ramblers' lead ballooned to 9-0 and Swain clubbed a three-run home run in the fourth to close out the offensive onslaught as Loyola garnered its third straight victory.
A Look At The Numbers
- Loyola pounded out 10 hits off three Seton Hall pitchers, with McGee, Brooke Wilson and O'Brien tallying two hits each.
- Dolezal, who has been the victim of some tough luck so far this year, was impressive in the circle, recording her first shutout since April 19, 2017, to earn her second win of the season.
