In Short…
First-half goals from Charme Morgan and Camy Huddleston helped Oklahoma State defeat the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team by a final count of 2-0 this evening in the season opener for both teams at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex in Stillwater, Okla.
Coach Bimbi's Thoughts…
"Overall, we learned a lot about this group tonight. What a tight, resilient group of girls we have that are all pulling in the same direction. There is a bright future for these Ramblers."
How It Happened
Both sides struggled for chances in the game's opening minutes on a warm early evening that saw temperatures rise above 90 degrees. Loyola generated a corner kick for senior
Emily Lange in the 11
th minute that did not produce a chance. Fellow senior
Maddie Ford came up with her first save of the day shortly after as she stoned a blast by Anna Beffer at her near post to keep the game scoreless.
Morgan broke the Ramblers' resistance just in front of the half-hour mark as she directed a deflected cross past a sprawling Ford to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 edge. Loyola came close to equalizing through a free kick by junior
Madison Kimball, only for Michela Ongaro, the Cowgirl netminder, to come up with the stop. Huddleston found herself on the receiving end of a though ball from Jaci Jones in the 37
th minute that she fired in at the far post from 12 yards out to send the hosts racing into halftime up, 2-0.
Ford ensured that the deficit remained at two in the 49
th minute when she parried away Coumba Sow's point-blank headed opportunity. Tanya de Souza, who started the second half in goal for the Cowgirls, answered Ford with a stop of her own seven minutes later as she collected junior
Jenna Szczesny's try from a tough angle.
With time beginning to tick away in regulation,
Taylor Lambouris nearly got the Ramblers on the board in the 77
th minute, placing her free kick from 30 yards out narrowly over the crossbar. That would prove to be Loyola's final attempt of the day as Oklahoma State closed out a 2-0 triumph before its home crowd.
Looking At The Numbers
- Kimball, Lambouris, Szczesny and junior
Vivien Schultz all tallied a shot for the Ramblers in the defeat.

Lindsey Hardiman and
Gopika Patel, cracked the Rambler starting lineup today.
