SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 25, 2017)

In Short
Donte Ingram scored 18 points, 13 of which came in the second half, and grabbed 11 rebounds, to lead Loyola University Chicago (7-0) to a 75-60 victory over Kent State (3-3) this afternoon at the Savannah Civic Center in a contest as part of the Savannah Invitational. The Ramblers shot a sizzling 60 percent (15-for-25) from the field and three-point-range (6-for-10) in the second half alone.

How It Happened
Kent State built a seven-point lead (23-16) in the first half, but after a cold start, Loyola began to heat up and consecutive three-pointers from Clayton Custer and Lucas Williamson were part of a 7-0 spurt that knotted the score at 23.

The Golden Flashes answered right back with five unanswered points of their own to reclaim the lead before the Ramblers closed out the period with an 8-2 run that included back-to-back treys from Custer and Marques Townes, as well as a buzzer-beating jumper by Williamson that sent Loyola into the break on top, 31-30.

Loyola used a 9-1 run early in the second half to snap a 33-all tie and grab a 42-33 advantage, with Jackson scoring seven of his team's nine points in that stretch. Kent State tallied the next six points to get within three (42-39), but the Ramblers countered with a 9-2 run of their own that featured four points from Bruno Skokna, to seize a 51-41 lead.

The Ramblers would lead by as many as 18 points in the second half on a conventional three-point play from Townes that made it 71-53, and they would roll to their seventh straight victory.

A Look At The Numbers
  • Ingram finished 7-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three-point range en route to his 18 points, while also corralling 11 rebounds.
  • Townes added 14 points, while Custer and Aundre Jackson each added 11 points.
  • Cameron Krutwig hauled in a season-high 11 rebounds.
Up Next
Loyola wraps up a string of three straight road games when it travels to Boise State on November 28 for a Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge contest.
