In Short
Loyola improved to 3-0 for its best start since opening the 2010-11 campaign with seven straight victories thanks to a 97-59 win over Eureka at Gentile Arena tonight. The Ramblers, who were playing their third game in four days, shot over 50 percent from the field for the third time this season, connecting on 55.2 percent (37-for-67) of their shots this evening. Milton Doyle led all Ramblers with 16 points.

Coach Moser's Thoughts
“Eureka came in fired up and made a bunch of shots in the first half and that is a credit to them. We just had to stay the course and defend. I thought we had more energy in the second half and we hoped to be able to wear them down a bit. I am pleased that we took care of business in this stretch by going 3-0 and now we are looking forward to compete in the Paradise Jam.”

How It Happened
Kendall Davis scored six of Eureka’s first eight points as the Red Devils jumped out to an 8-4 advantage before Loyola responded with 11 unanswered points to open up a 15-8 lead they would never relinquish. The feisty Red Devils would not go away quietly and they slowly trimmed that seven-point deficit to 34-33 on Hank Thomas’ three-pointer with 3:22 left in the opening period.

After Thomas’ three, Bruno Skokna knocked down a triple of his own to spark an 11-1 spurt that put the Ramblers back on top by double figures.

Much like yesterday’s game against IU Northwest, Loyola used a big run early in the second half to break the game open. A bucket by Donte Ingram a little over a minute into the second half triggered a 15-2 Rambler spurt that allowed Loyola’s lead to balloon to 64-42. Aundre Jackson scored six of his 13 points on the night during that surge.

Loyola was able to clear the bench late in the game for the second straight outing and 14 players tallied at least one point tonight.

Looking At The Numbers
- Doyle scored in double figures for the third time in as many games this year, totaling 16 points to go with five rebounds, six assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
- In going 6-for-6 from the foul line, Doyle extended his streak of consecutive free throws made to 14.
- Jackson also reached double digits off the bench for the third time this season, totaling 13 points and six rebounds.
- The Ramblers dominated on the glass, out-rebounding a much smaller Eureka squad, 48-25.
- Loyola has not lost a November home game under sixth-year head coach Porter Moser, improving to 14-0 with tonight’s win.
- Donte Ingram added a season-high 13 points and Bruno Skokna tallied a season-best 15 points.
- This marks the first time Loyola has scored 90 or more points in consecutive games since January 14 and 18, 2001.

Up Next
Loyola heads to the Virgin Islands to compete in the Paradise Jam, November 18-21. The Ramblers open up play in the tournament versus Saint Joseph’s Friday at 11:30 a.m. Central.
