Box Score

DAYTON, Ohio - Cole Darling's jumper with 1:18 remaining capped Wright State's comeback from a 14-point, second-half deficit as the Raiders (15-8, 6-4 Horizon) stung Loyola University Chicago (13-10, 3-7 Horizon) tonight at the Nutter Center, 62-59. Loyola shot 50 percent from the field for the game but turned the ball over a season-high 24 times.

"Our guys played their hearts out tonight and part of the process is learning how to wins games," Loyola head coach Porter Moser said. "We did so many things right tonight but the turnovers absolutely hurt us."

Loyola shot lights out in the first half, knocking down 11 of 19 (.579) from the field, and hit all four of its three-point attempts to build a 34-22 halftime lead.

A Christian Thomas dunk to open to the second half gave the Ramblers a 36-22 lead, their largest of the night, but Wright State stormed back and got within 39-36.

Loyola however, countered with a 12-2 run of its own that started with a huge three by Devon Turk, to stake claim to a 51-38 advantage.

The Ramblers led 55-47 when Ben Averkamp was whistled for his fifth personal foul and from there, the Ramblers managed only four points, all from the foul line, as Wright State finished the game on a 15-4 run.

Christian Thomas led Loyola with 13 points and eight boards, while Turk added 11 points and Cully Payne chipped in 10 points and five assists.

Darling scored 17 points to lead Wright State.

Loyola is back on the road again Thursday night (Feb. 7) when it travels to Youngstown State.
