On getting off to a good start
"It was a good start, but then Valpo pushed it back and shot the ball, and we didn't make anything happen, first of all. For us, we have to play good defense. Valpo shot the ball well, but defensively it seemed like after the first 10 minutes, all of a sudden we lost it. And then the last 10 minutes of the first half really carried over into the second half, when the closest we got was by 10. Give Valpo credit, they shot the ball better than any team we've played all year. But I was really disappointed because this was the first time I've seen our guys not answer back."

On Valparaiso's recent play
I thought Valpo played very, very well. They're very sharp. They moved the basketball and they made the extra pass. When you shoot the ball well, your offense looks great. We had some guys who missed some good shots. We really didn't have anyone going in the second half. No one could score in the second half."
