Former Washington State standout Maddy Haro begins her first season on the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer coaching staff in 2022. Haro will serve as an assistant coach with the Ramblers.
“We are very excited to welcome Maddy to our program,” Loyola head coach Barry Bimbi said. “Her playing experience at a top tier program like Washington State and a chance to learn from their great staff has prepared her for this opportunity. I felt through the interview process that he values are in alignment with me as we transition into the Atlantic 10 Conference and prepare to continue to chase championships.”
Haro arrives in Rogers Park after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at The Texas Woman’s University. This past fall, she helped guide the Pioneers to a 12-5-2 finish that included a 9-4-0 mark in Lone Star Conference (LSC) play. Six members of the team were named All-LSC honorees, led by Maddy Harper and Jazmine Navarro, who were both tabbed Second Team All-South Central Region selections by the United Soccer Coaches.
A native of Corona, Calif., Haro appeared in 76 games during her time at Washington State, starting in 44 contests. She dished out a single-season program-record 15 assists during her senior year en route to being named Second Team All-Pac-12 and a United Soccer Coaches All-West Region pick. Haro closed her collegiate career with 22 helpers, a mark that ranks second all-time in Cougar annals, in addition to firing home nine goals.
Following graduation, Haro served as an analyst for the Pac-12 Network in addition to coaching with Legends FC in California.
“I’m unbelievably excited to be a part of such a successful and competitive program,” Haro commented. “I can’t thank Barry enough for giving me the opportunity to continue doing what I love and ultimately, positively impacting these young women to be fearless and confident ambassadors of Loyola. I can’t wait to get to work and take on the Atlantic 10 with this incredible group. Go Ramblers!”
A 2019 graduate of Washington State, Haro double majored in Journalism & Multimedia Production and Public Relations.
