Former DePaul women's soccer standout Chelsea Grant is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Loyola University Chicago. Grant arrives in Rogers Park after serving as coach and coordinator with the Alabama Youth Soccer Assocation.
Prior to her time in Alabama, Grant spent as a season at Valparaiso as a graduate assistant coach. She helped lead the Crusaders to a final mark of 8-7-3 that included a record of 2-3-2 in Horizon League play. Grant, who battled knee injuries throughout her collegiate career, tallied her first goal as part of 1-0 victory over league rival Cincinnati.
Grant played exclusively on the club level during her high school career for coach Rory Dames' Eclipse Select. She helped lead the club to a national championship in 2009 to go along with state crowns in both the 2008 and 2009 seasons. A two-sport athlete, Grant also was a three-year letterwinner in track, where she set Mundelein High School's school record in the 100m hurdles.
Grant graduated from DePaul in 2013 where she majored in Public Relations & Advertising.
