Hui Paces Loyola At The Nashville Invitational

HERMITAGE, Tenn. — The Loyola Chicago women's golf team finished in 13th place at The Nashville Invitational. The highlights of the week were the improved play by the team in each round and the performance of sophomore Grace Hui down the stretch.

Loyola ended with a team score of 81-over-par (+33,+25,+23). Delaware won the team title at the tournament with a final score of 18-over-par, while Lipscomb's Ava Bankston claimed the individual title with a score of one-over-par.

"We didn't finish quite where we wanted to, but I'm proud of this group for improving each round of the event," said head coach Brandy Johnston. "They were able to make a few adjustments between the days to move up a spot in the team standings."

The Ramblers were led in this tournament by Hui, who finished The Nashville Invitational in a tie for 27th place with a score of +11 (+9,+2, E). This is the second time this season that Hui has finished as the highest-ranked Rambler at an event.

"Grace Hui had a solid second and third round for us," said Johnston. "She really found her rhythm near the end to finish on par over the last 18 holes."

Hui's play over the final two rounds marked the team's two best individual rounds of the tournament, and her final round, even-par performance was her best since her two-under-par second round at the Velvet Classic during the fall season. In addition, her final score of +11 was her best 54-hole score of the spring season.

Freshman Teagan Connors ended The Nashville Invitational as the second-best Rambler with a final score of +20, which landed her in a tie for 59th place. Junior Cassie Psuik ended with a score of +25, while sophomore Madison Haugen finished with a score of +28. Finally, freshman Maureen O'Leary ended with a score of +35 in her return to the lineup.

The Ramblers will finish up their regular season at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio on April 11-12.
