CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago men's golf tees off the spring season in Dade City, Florida at the Lake Jovita Invitational hosted by Ball State. The first two rounds of action will be played on Monday, Feb. 9 with the final round on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Action begins at 7:30 a.m. CT both days. This season's event will be held at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. It's a par-72-and-7,153-yard course.
Loyola will compete against Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Charleston Southern, Dayton, Richmond, South Florida, UConn, Valparaiso, Winthrop, Wright State, and Xavier.
Playing for the Ramblers are
Sebastian Kasun,
Dori Lee,
Charlie Kulwin,
Jackson Overton, and
Zach Mulhearn.
Connor Woodin will compete as an individual.
The Ramblers open the spring after wrapping up the fall with an eighth-place finish at the Dayton Flyer Invitational in October.
Kulwin led the Ramblers, tying for 13th on the leaderboards. He scored four-over-par at 217 (73-70-74). His second-round score of 70 was a low for Loyola over the three-round event. It marked his second time leading the Ramblers in the fall. Kulwin also led at the Virtues Intercollegiate, tying fifth with a five-under-par score of 211 (72-71-68).
Kasun also led the Ramblers twice in fall play. At the Highlands Invitational, Kasun took 15
th with an even score of 216 (75-71-70). Two events later, Kasun led the Ramblers, finishing +2 after three rounds. He scored 218 (70-74-74) to pace the pack and tie for 20
th. He led the team with 11 birdies, which tied 16
th in the tournament.
