Mount Pleasant, Mich. -- Loyola Chicago secured its first victory of the season in a 1-0 shutout at Central Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 17. Freshman defender Abby Sudkamp recorded her first career goal after netting the game winner and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Allison Deardorff secured her first shutout of the year. 

The Ramblers improved to 1-1-0 overall.

• The first half saw eight shots from the Ramblers' offense while the defense held the Chippewas to just three. 
• Loyola forced five corner kicks in the first 45 minutes, including three in the opening 20 minutes. 
• In the second half, the Ramblers tallied nine more shots and Deardorff stayed solid between the posts, eliminating two Chippewas scoring opportunities. 
• Sudkamp finally broke up the scoreless tie with her first goal of the season in the 79th minute, assisted by sophomore midfielder Lydia Case.
