Loyola Chicago women's soccer kicks off its 2025 regular season against Northwestern at Loyola Soccer Park on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.
QUICK KICKS
- Loyola landed at No. 4 in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, announced by the league's office on Wednesday morning.
- The Ramblers welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.
- Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Allison Deardorff capped her rookie season tied for a program-best 10 shutouts and a 0.69 goals against average, ranking her second in the conference in 2024.
- Last season, the Ramblers finished sixth in Atlantic 10 play, compiling a 4-2-4 league record and a 9-5-5.
- At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola.
SCOUTING REPORT
After finishing 6-10-3 last fall, Northwestern ranked 14th in the 18-team Big Ten Women's Soccer Preseason Poll and three Wildcats were named to the Big Ten Women's Soccer Players to Watch List. Senior midfielder Caterina Regazzoni earned her spot on the list for the third consecutive season while sophomores Alex Fallon and Kennedy Roesch each made their debuts.
SERIES HISTORY
Northwestern holds the advantage, 10-1-1, in the all-time series with Loyola. This marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2011 when the Wildcats shut out the Ramblers 3-0.
