STANFORD, Calif. – James Lawrence broke Loyola Chicago's outdoor 10,000m record Friday night at the Stanford Invitational, clocking a time of 27:54.62 to rewrite the program's record books. Additionally, a separate pack of Ramblers competed locally at the Chicagoland Championships.
Lawrence placed seventh in his heat with his sub-28-minute 10K mark, a personal record. His time beat the previous record of 28:40.40, set by Chris Devaney in 2023, by 45.78 seconds.
Back in the Windy City at the Chicagoland Championships, Priscilla Ravera set a new personal record in the women's 1,500m, clocking a 4:47.06 to take seventh in her heat. Meanwhile, Charlotte Wilson also set a new PR of 5:09.19, taking second in a separate 1,500m heat.
Trent Anderson finished in 9:47.34 for the men's 3K steeplechase.
Action at the Chicagoland Championships continues tomorrow (April 5).
