Ramblers, Spiders Face Off in Breast Cancer Awareness Match

LEADING OFF 
Loyola Chicago (7-3-3, 2-2-1 A-10) hosts Richmond (3-6-4, 0-4-1 A-10) in its Breast Cancer Awareness match on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.  

QUICK KICKS 

  • Zoe Hevey earned Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 6) after she registered four points in two matches. Hevey netted her fourth goal and fourth assist of the season in Loyola's 3-1 victory over George Washington (Oct. 2) and added another assist in the 3-3 draw at La Salle (Oct. 5).  
  • Jadyn Harris and Meghan Economos were responsible for the other two goals against GW, both their first scores of the season, and Economos' first career goal.  
  • At La Salle, defender Mia Lanni opened scoring early in the first half then netted the equalizer in the final few minutes of the match, for her first career brace.  
  • Goalkeeper Allison Deardorff sits at No. 4 in the A-10 in save percentage (.823) and shutouts per game (.538), ranks fifth in goals against average (.846) and sixth in saves per game (3.92).  
  • The Ramblers are No. 9 in the eastern region of the United Soccer Coaches Top 10 Regional Rankings.    
  • Loyola welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.      
  • At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola. 

SCOUTING REPORT 
Richmond is still searching for its first A-10 win after falling to Duquesne (Sept. 21), George Mason (Sept. 25), Fordham (Sept. 28) and Dayton (Oct. 2) then drawing with Rhode Island (Oct. 5). The Spiders have yet to score in a league matchup.  

Goalkeeper Veronica Rrapi is a constant on the A-10 leaderboard where she ranks second in saves/game (5.55), third in save percentage (.859), sixth in goals against average (.909) and seventh in shutouts/game (.364).  

SERIES HISTORY 
The Ramblers lead the all-time series with the Spiders 3-0; all three meetings came in Loyola's A-10 era and have held the score 1-0. Loyola is 2-0 in Richmond, Va. and 1-0 at home against Richmond.
