Women’s Soccer Back at Home for La Salle

LEADING OFF

Loyola Chicago is back at home to host La Salle on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. in the fourth conference matchup for both teams.

QUICK KICKS

  • Sophomore forward Jadyn Harris scored her first career goal against No. 20 Saint Louis on Thursday, Sept. 26 to mark Loyola's first point against a Top 25 team since 2019.
  • Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Allison Deardorff recorded five saves and shut out SLU for 80 minutes before a Billikens penalty kick goal equalized the match.
  • Defender Alaina Abel is on an active 2,520-minute streak playing the full 90 in the last 28 consecutive matches, dating back to the Kansas match on Aug. 20, 2023.
  • The Ramblers are 6-0 at home so far this season, matching their best home record from 2021 when the team went 6-0 at Loyola Soccer Park.

SCOUTING LA SALLE
La Salle is also 6-2-3 overall, but 1-1-1 in A-10 action. The Explorers were on a seven-match unbeaten regular season streak before it was disrupted by Rhode Island in both teams' A-10 openers.

In conference play, La Salle fell, 1-0, at Rhode Island on Sept. 19, drew 1-1 against Saint Joseph's on Sept. 22 and defeated Davidson, 2-0, on Sept. 26.

EXPLORERS TO WATCH

  • Senior forward Haley Gschrey leads the team in points (18), goals (7), shots (38), shots on goal (16) and tied for first in assists (4). One of six consistent La Salle starters, the veteran has scored at least once in back-to-back matches on three separate occasions this season. Gschrey is active on the active and will be one to stop for the Ramblers defense.
  • Goalkeeper Michela Auguadro, another La Salle senior, has tallied 35 saves and three shutouts so far this year. She has a goals against average of 1.09, compared to Deardorff's 0.82 GAA. Last season, Aguadro put up a staggering five straight shutouts to kick off A-10 play and recorded a second clean sheet streak of four straight games culminating in a 12 save shutout against then-No. 16 Dayton in the A-10 semifinals.
  • Ricshya Walker, a junior forward from Philadelphia, is another consistent starter for the Explorers. She's second on the team in points (12), goals (5), shots (28) and SOG (13). Walker scored a hat-trick against Temple on Sept. 8 and set a season high eight shots. She was named to the Second Team All-A-10 in 2023.
