Loyola Chicago takes on its second Atlantic 10 opponent, Fordham in New York on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. CT.
QUICK KICKS
- Senior middie Jaimee Cibulka scored the game-winner against Dayton in both teams' A-10 opener on Thursday, Sept. 19 at Loyola Soccer Park. It marked the Ramblers first victory ever against the Flyers.
- Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Allison Deardorff earned A-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, Sept. 16, her second weekly league honor this season and of her career. Against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 15, she recorded seven saves and her fourth shutout, both season and career highs.
- Deardorff recorded another clean sheet against Dayton, notching four saves.
- The Ramblers are 6-0 at home so far this season, matching their best home record from 2021 when the team went 6-0 at Loyola Soccer Park.
- Defender Alaina Abel is on an active 2,340-minute streak playing the full 90 in the last 26 consecutive matches, dating back to the Kansas match on Aug. 20, 2023.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham is 6-2-1 on the season and the current A-10 leader. The Rams have secured three shutouts this season, two on the road, and are undefeated at home, 3-0. The most recent victory came in Fordham's A-10 opener, a 3-0 shutout at George Mason. Loyola will look to disrupt Fordham's perfect home record in pursuit of its first win against the conference opponent.
RAMS TO WATCH
- Rookie Julia Acosta is the team leader in goals (5), shots (24) and shots on goal (15). The freshman forward has started in all eight matches so far this season.
- Another freshman forward, Liina Tervo leads the Rams in points (14) with four goals and six assists. The rookie is third on the team in both shots (20) and shots on goal (11). Tervo has played in seven matches, making six starts in her collegiate career debut.
- Starting goalkeeper Addison Green has made 18 saves on the season and recorded two shutouts with a 5-0-1 record. The Canadian freshman has a goals against average of 1.00 and has racked up 540 minutes between the posts this year.
SERIES HISTORY
The series is even at 1-1, with the most recent result coming in August 2016, a 1-0 shutout for the Rams. In 1998, the Ramblers defeated Fordham 2-0. This season's match will be the first meeting between Loyola and Fordham as conference opponents since the Ramblers joined the A-10 in July 2022.
