Ramblers Welcome Eastern Michigan in Last Non-Con Match

LEADING OFF 
The Ramblers host Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 pm in their final non-conference match of the regular season. 
 
QUICK KICKS  
  • The Ramblers are 4-0 at home so far this season, their best home record since 2021 when the team went 6-0 at Loyola Soccer Park.  
  • Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Allison Deardorff marked a career high six saves against Michigan State and her seventh consecutive match playing the full 90 between the posts.  
  • Defender Alaina Abel is on an active minute streak of 2,160, playing the full 90 in every single match since last season's match against Kansas on Aug. 20, 2023.  
  • On Sept. 5, Loyola outshot Toledo 15-6 with nine different Ramblers getting at least one shot off: Jaimee Cibulka (3), Harrison (3), Zoe Hevey (2), Maggie Schmidt (2), Olivia Rhodes (1), Olivia Anderson (1), Jocelyn Leigh (1), Emily Rossi (1) and Emily Roberts (1). 
SCOUTING EASTERN MICHIGAN  
Eastern Michigan is 4-2 so far this season, with its two losses coming in the Eagles' last two games, at Cincinnati on Sept. 1 (3-1) and at Valparaiso (1-0) on Sept. 12. Prior to, Eastern Michigan was on a four-game winning streak for the first time since 1999.   

EAGLES TO WATCH 
  • Veterans Sam Lenaghan and Maddie O'Farrell are two of six seniors this season. Lenaghan, a key piece to the Eagles' defensive unit, has started all six games, accumulating 405 minutes, the fourth most of any field player. Middie/forward, O'Farrell leads the team with 13 shots, seven on frame, and is second in goals (2). She scored her first goal in Eastern's 3-2 victory over UIC on Aug. 22, and the second against Purdue Fort Wayne on Aug. 29 for the game-winner. 
  • Sophomore standout Olivia Sipsock leads the team with eight points, three goals and two assists. The forward recorded her first goal against UIC on Aug. 22 then notched a brace in the 2-0 shutout over Youngstown St. on Aug. 25.  Last year, Sipsock was one of two freshmen with five goals in the MAC and was second in points (12) amongst the league freshmen.  
  • Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Ella Holland has recorded 22 saves and three shutouts across six games so far this season. Last year in her first debut season as an Eagle, Holland played in 17 matches, making 15 starts and had a team-high 1,329 minutes in goal. The Dunwoody, Ga. native stopped 83 shots, ranking fifth in the MAC, in 2023. 
SERIES HISTORY 
The series between Loyola and Eastern Michigan is even, 1-1-1, with their last meeting in 2019 ending in a 1-0 overtime victory for the Ramblers. In 2016, the match resulted in a 1-1 draw after double overtime and in 2015, the Eagles bested the Ramblers 1-0. Loyola will aim to claim the series advantage.
