LEADING OFF
Loyola Chicago is back on the road for its second Big Ten matchup this season against Wisconsin in Madison on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. CT.
QUICK KICKS
- Sophomore forward Zoe Hevey scored the game-winner against DePaul and set a season high of five shots. The goal marked her first of the 2024 season.
- Redshirt freshman goalie Allison Deardorff recorded another 90 minutes and two saves in the DePaul victory. Her second shutout of the season marks a career high.
- The Ramblers outshot the DePaul Blue Demons 12-3, with seven 'Blers taking at least one shot: Jaimee Cibulka (1), Taylor Harrison (1), Maggie Schmidt (1), Olivia Rhodes (1), Olivia Anderson (1), Jocelyn Leigh (2) and Hevey (5).
- Five Ramblers played the full 90 minutes on the pitch against DePaul: Deardorff (GK), Alaina Abel (D), Cibulka (MF), Rhodes (D), and Ava Metaj (D). It was the third straight 90-minute match for Deardorff, Abel, Rhodes and Metaj.
SCOUTING WISCONSIN
Wisconsin is 2-1-0 so far this season, collecting wins over UConn (2-1) and Providence (2-0). The Badgers' one loss was in their season opener to then-ranked No. 3 BYU (1-0). Last year, Wisconsin posted a 14-5-4 overall record and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament where they fell, 2-1, to then-ranked No. 5 Texas.
BADGERS TO WATCH
- Aryssa Mahrt is an integral part of Wisconsin's midfield and attacking line, leading the Badgers in goals (2), points (5) and shots (10, 8 SOG). The graduate student transferred to Wisconsin for her junior year and has been a top scorer for the program since, netting six goals in 2022 and five in 2023.
- Another key piece to Wisconsin's midfield is senior Ashley Martinez who is second on the team in points (3), shots (9) and tied for first in assists (1). She started all 23 games last season and has already recorded a total of 236 minutes on the pitch this year.
- Sophomore defender Hailey Baumann is the current team leader in minutes (270) after starting in and playing all 90 minutes of the first three games. Last season she was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team and the All-Big Ten Freshman Team. Baumann is essential on the back line and helped keep last year's opponents to only 0.65 per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Badgers hold the series advantage, 0-7-3. Loyola forced three consecutive draws with Wisconsin in the 2019, 2021 and 2022 seasons. Last year the Ramblers fell 3-2 to the Badgers at home.
