Loyola Chicago, 7-2-5 (2-0-4 A-10), looks to defend its undefeated home record and find its third Atlantic 10 victory against Davidson on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. on Hoyne Field.
QUICK KICKS
- Redshirt freshman goalkeeper earned back-to-back Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards after securing two shutouts at VCU and Richmond.
- As of Thursday, Oct. 10, Deardorff leads the league in three goalkeeper categories: goals against average (.643), saves (60) and shutouts per game (.571).
- Senior midfielder Jaimee Cibulka scored the game-winner against Richmond on Oct. 6 for the Ramblers first road and third conference victory this season.
- Defender Alaina Abel is on an active 2,790-minute streak playing the full 90 in the last 31 consecutive matches.
- The Ramblers are undefeated 6-0-1 at Loyola Soccer Park this season, their best home record since going 6-0 in 2021.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
The Wildcats are 6-5-3 overall and 2-3-1 in A-10 play so far this season. Davidson fell in its first three conference matches against VCU (1-0), Duquesne (2-0) and La Salle (2-0). Then the Wildcats secured two straight A-10 victories, a 2-0 shutout against Saint Joseph's and a 4-0 shutout at St. Bonaventure, before drawing 1-1 with Fordham.
WILDCATS TO WATCH
- In her senior season, forward Maddie Moody leads the Wildcats in points (12) with a team high six goals. She's started in all 14 matches so far this season and scored at least one goal in four consecutive matches, including a brace against App State on Sept. 8. Moody netted the game-winner against Saint Joseph's for the Wildcats first A-10 victory.
- Starting goalkeeper Emily Smith has recorded four shutouts through 14 matches this season, two of which were against A-10 teams. She has made 53 saves and has a goals against average of 1.01. The senior ranks fifth in the league in saves and shutouts per game.
- Dakota Lyons, a junior transfer from Ohio State, is second on the squad in goals (4) and tied for third in assists (3). She's played in all 14 matches, starting in every one except for two. Lyons is not afraid to shoot and second on the team in shots (20) and shots on goal (8).
SERIES HISTORY
The series is tied 1-1 between the Ramblers and the Wildcats. In its debut A-10 season, Loyola fell 1-0 to Davidson then one year later, the Ramblers shut out the Wildcats 1-0 in North Carolina.
