Ramblers Close Home Stretch Against Wisconsin

Kickoff is 7 p.m. Thursday

CHICAGO (September 6, 2023) - The Ramblers close a three-match home stand on Thursday with the visiting Wisconsin Badgers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Loyola Soccer Park. Both Loyola and Wisconsin are looking to extend its win streak to three games after picking up a pair during last week's action. The Ramblers downed Western Illinois and Ball State, while the Badgers have wins against LSU and Western Michigan. Thursday's match will be available to stream on ESPN+.

QUICK KICKS
• For the first time this season, Loyola earned back-to-back wins after beating Western Illinois and Ball State on its home turf last week. The Ramblers handed the Leathernecks a 1-0 shutout, while they rallied for a 2-1 win vs. the Cardinals to cap the week.
Zoe Hevey fired off seven of Loyola's 25 shots against the Leathernecks. She eventually broke through the defense to net the game winner on a solo attack. She added two assists vs. Ball State, including the a helper on the game winner. Hevey was awarded the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week following her two-match performance.
• The Ramblers capped the week with a 2-1 win against Ball State. It was their first win vs. the Cardinals in program history. Olivia Rhodes scored first in Sunday's match, while Taylor Harrison put her third goal of the season away for the game-winner in the second half.
• Loyola held the Leathernecks without a shot attempt last Thursday, leading the match 25-0. The team's combined 25 shots sits fifth on the A10 single game-highs list. Hevey's seven shots that match marks a career-high for the freshman forward and is fifth on the individual game-high charts.
• After the first six matches of the season, Harrison leads the Ramblers with three goals. She is tied with Hevey as the Rambler leader with six points. Harrison's three goals is tied third in the A10.
Jaimee Cibulka also assisted on Sunday's game winner, making the initial pass to Hevey in the left corner. Cibulka has a team-leading three helpers this year, and she is tied third in the A10 in the category so far this season.
• Loyola Chicago was selected fifth in this year's Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll earlier this week. The Ramblers earned 158 votes in the poll and sit behind Massachusetts in fourth. UMass earned one first-place vote, while Saint Louis was crowned the preseason favorite with the remaining 14 votes.
Barry Bimbi enters his 13th season as head coach of the Ramblers. Bimbi notched his 100th career win last year and sits at 109-93-29 overall ahead of the 2023 season. The women's soccer program is closing in on its 250th win since its inception in 1992 with an overall record of 249-317-45.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
Wisconsin is 3-1-2 heading into this week's action. The Badgers have dropped just one match this year to No. 4 Duke back on Aug. 27. Wisconsin rebounded with two wins vs. LSU (3-0) and Western Michigan (2-1). The Badgers forced draws with Kansas and No. 3 North Carolina, while their remaining win was a 1-0 shutout over UIC.

BADGERS TO WATCH
• Emma Jaskaniec leads the Badgers in points (6) and goals (2). Both her goals came in the 3-0 win against LSU. Jaskaniec tallied one assist for a five-point outing against the Tigers. She also tallied a dime vs. UIC.
• Alyssa Mahrt leads the Badgers with three assists this season. She also has a goal and sits with five total points on the year. Mahrt scored in the win vs. LSU. She recorded one helper at Duke and a pair in the win vs. Western Michigan.
• In goal, Erin McKinney has logged every minute between the posts. She has 26 saves, four shutouts, and a .50 goals against average for Wisconsin. McKinney made a season-high eight saves at North Carolina.

Wisconsin leads the all-time series 6-0-3. The last three meetings have resulted in ties.
