CHICAGO (September 27, 2018) –
Fresh off an emphatic win to open Missouri Valley Conference play last weekend, the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team will head back out on the road to take on Indiana State on Saturday evening.  Kickoff against the Sycamores is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) from inside Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute, Ind.

Last Time Out: Loyola jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first half and never looked back, picking up a 4-2 victory over host UNI this past Sunday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex in Waterloo, Iowa.  Seniors Jenna Szczesny and Madison Kimball each netted two goals, with Szczesny also dishing out an assist en route to being named the MVC Offensive Player of the Week.

vs. Indiana State: Indiana State will be looking to rebound from a 1-0 overtime defeat at Evansville last Saturday in its MVC opener.  The Sycamores, who have already matched their win total from all of last season, sit at 6-4-2 overall (0-1-0 MVC).  Second-year head coach Julie Hanley's team was picked to finish eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll.  Preseason All-MVC selection Katie Wells paces the attack for the Sycamores.  The senior forward leads The Valley in goals (7), assists (6) and overall points (20).  Hannah Sullivan has played in every minute of all 12 games for Hanley's side in goal this season and boasts an impressive 0.96 goals against average that is tops for all MVC netminders.

Series Stuff: Saturday evening's tilt under the lights at Memorial Stadium will be the 10th all-time meeting between Loyola and Indiana State in women's soccer.  The Ramblers own a 6-3-0 advantage in the previous nine encounters.  Loyola, which will be in search of its first win in Terre Haute since 2014, held off a late Indiana State surge to pick up a 3-2 win over the Sycamores when the two teams clashed last season at Loyola Soccer Park on September 8, 2017.  Szczesny, Katie Grall and Aleksa Tataryn each found the back of the net in the victory.  Since moving to The Valley, the Ramblers hold a slim 3-2-0 edge in five meetings between the two schools.

Up Next: Loyola returns home next Saturday (October 6) to open up a two-game homestand against Drake, The Valley's reigning regular-season champion.  The Ramblers will honor their senior class in a special pregame ceremony prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff at Loyola Soccer Park.
