CHICAGO (September 13, 2017) –
The Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team looks to stay hot this coming weekend when it welcomes a pair of local foes to Loyola Soccer Park.  A 7 p.m. clash with Chicago on Friday evening precedes the latest installment of the Red Line Rivalry when DePaul visits Rogers Park for a 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon tilt.

Last Time Out: Loyola is fresh off a perfect weekend in which it registered victories over Indiana State, 3-2, and Iowa, 3-0, respectively.  In last Friday's Missouri Valley Conference opener with the Sycamores in Rogers Park, goals from senior Katie Grall, junior Jenna Szczesny and sophomore Alexa Tataryn gave the Ramblers an early lead before they withstood a furious Indiana State comeback.  Loyola jumped out to a quick two-goal advantage against the Hawkeyes two days later in Iowa City, Iowa through goals from Szczesny and senior Avalon Senn-Raemont before sophomore Madison Laudeman added a third goal during the second half as Loyola picked up its first win over a Big Ten Conference opponent since 2004.

vs. Chicago State: Chicago State brings a record of 1-7-0 into Friday's matchup with the Ramblers. The Cougars have dropped five straight contests, with their lone win coming in a 1-0 blanking of Saint Xavier (Ill.) back on Aug. 25.  First-year head coach Kevin Meek's team is led on the offensive end by the trio of Mariela Alba, Sara Marcotte and Samantha Noonan.  All three have found the back of net once this season, with Alba also adding an assist.  Gabby Klemp (4.57 GAA) and Audra Wisehart (5.14 GAA) have each started in four games in goal this season for the Cougars.

vs. DePaul: DePaul is coming off a weekend sweep of Pepperdine, 1-0, and William & Mary, 4-0, at Wish Field in Lincoln Park.  The two victories brought the Blue Demons record to an even 4-4-0 on the year.  The pairing of Franny Cerny and Alexa Ben spearhead the attack for veteran head coach Erin Chastain's side.  Cerny has a team-high five goals to her name, with Ben trailing close behind with four tallies of her own.  Lauren Frasca has started in all eight games between the pipes and holds a sparkling 0.92 goals against average.

Series Stuff: Friday will mark only the second meeting between Loyola and Chicago State in women's soccer.  The first clash came last season on Sept. 23, 2016 as the Ramblers rolled to a 7-0 win at Loyola Soccer Park.  Ciara Murray netted a hat trick to lead the Loyola attack in the win, while Emily Lange chipped in a pair of goals to go along with single tallies from Eleni Carr and Carolina Dunbar.  Sunday's weekend finale will be the 17th installment of the Red Line Rivalry.  Loyola holds a slim 8-7-1 edge in the all-time series but DePaul has dominated the series of late, prevailing in six of the last eight meetings, including a 4-1 win last season's clash on Sept. 21, 2016.

After This: Loyola ventures back out on the road next weekend for a pair of games in the state of Indiana.  The Ramblers resume Missouri Valley Conference play next Friday (Sept. 22) at Evansville before wrapping up the two-game swing against Fort Wayne two days later (Sept. 24).
