In Short...
Junior Avalon Senn-Raemont found the back of the net as the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team fell to Drake this evening, 3-1, in the regular season finale for both teams at Loyola Soccer Park. The Bulldogs now sit at 12-4-2 (2-3-1 MVC), while the Ramblers fall to 4-11-2 (2-4-0 MVC).

How It Happened
Both goalkeepers were pressed into action early on a cool evening on Chicago's North Side. Annie Schmitz forced a stop of sophomore Cassidy Lentz in the fifth minute before sophomore Madison Kimball saw her free kick collected by Brooke Dennis, the Bulldog netminder, in the 14th minute.

Drake found both of its goals in the first half inside of a 5:52 span. In the 20th minute, Alyssa Brand sent a ball forward that Kayla Armstrong latched onto and fired in at the near post to make it 1-0 to the visitors. The same combination came back to haunt the Ramblers again in the 25th minute when Armstrong chased down a long pass from Brand before calmly finishing to send the Bulldogs into the locker room with a 2-0 edge.

Loyola came out with renewed energy in the second stanza and was quickly rewarded for the early pressure that it applied. Just under eight minutes into the half, sophomore Taylor Lambouris delivered a corner kick into the box that fell to the feet of Senn-Raemont. The McHenry, Ill. product got just enough effort behind her attempt to best Dennis and pull the Ramblers back to within one, 2-1, in the 53rd minute.

The one-goal deficit would prove to be short-lived for the Maroon & Gold. Three minutes after Senn-Raemont's tally, Armstrong worked her way down the right side and delivered a cross into the box that found Brand, who headed home to reestablish a two-goal edge for Drake at 3-1. Efforts in short succession by Senn-Raemont and senior Ciara Murray shortly after both floated wide of goal. Lentz added a pair of saves before all was said and done but the Ramblers were unable to put another shot on target for the remainder of the evening as Drake claimed a 3-1 victory.

Looking At The Numbers
- Senn-Raemont's goal this evening was her second of the 2016 campaign and 11th of her collegiate career.
- Lentz recorded four saves in goal in her first start between the pipes since Sept. 18 vs. Cal Poly.
- Drake's defense, which entered the night near the top of the Valley charts in goals against average, was on full display this evening as it held the Ramblers to only three shots on goal over eight total attempts.

Up Next
By virtue of other results from around the league this evening, Loyola will be seeded sixth in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Tournament. The Ramblers will travel to Waterloo, Iowa to take on third-seeded Northern Iowa on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
