Aug. 30, 2009

Box Score

CHICAGO - A goal by Toledo's Erin Flynn in the third minute was enough to beat the Loyola women's soccer team, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 30) at Loyola Soccer Park. Flynn sent a header off of teammate Molly Cornwell's corner kick past Rambler goalkeeper Katie Groesch for the goal.

The Ramblers fall to 0-4-0 on the season with the loss, while the Rockets remain undefeated at 2-0-1.

"We certainly played better than we did last weekend," said Loyola head coach Frank Mateus. "We definitely played hard and had some great chances, but we need to work on getting a better start."

The Ramblers had several quality scoring chances, peppering the Toledo defense with 16 shots. Casey Berrier notched four of the shots, while Laura Trevillian recorded three.

The Ramblers will travel down the road to face Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 4. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
