CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Michigan State on Thursday (Oct. 15) at Loyola Soccer Park. The Ramblers (3-12-2) out shot the Spartans (8-1-3), 10-5, but a goal in the 11th minute by Jordan Mueller was enough to give Michigan State the win.

"This was another great game, but unfortunately we came up short," said Loyola head coach Frank Mateus. "We played them pretty competitively and we left it all on the field, which is what we ask our girls to do, but we still need to score."

Mueller tallied the lone goal of the match on a failed clearing attempt. Mueller fielded the ball at the top of the 20-yard box and sent it past sophomore goalkeeper Katie Groesch for the score.

Groesch finished the match with two saves for the Ramblers. Junior Maggie Doe led the team in shots, recording three on the night.

Loyola concludes its Horizon League schedule next week, hosting Detroit on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. CT and Butler on Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. CT. Both matches will be played at Loyola Soccer Park.
